Benjamin Krotonsky receiving big check for NAU scholarship

Congratulations to Benjamin Krotonsky!

WeSERV is honored to award the scholarship to Ben, wishing him the best in his endeavors.

On Wednesday, May 3, WeSERV West Valley Affiliates presented High School Senior Benjamin Krotonsky of Mountain Ridge High School with a $2,000 scholarship for NAU, Northern Arizona University. He’ll start college in the fall to earn an Engineering degree.

With a long list of Honors and AP classes, Ben holds a GPA of 3.94.  He has a passion for music and playing Baritone saxophones. Through his freshman to senior years, Ben played in the high school concert band and performed solo and in an ensemble outside of school. He was also in the Marching Band as Baritone Saxophone Section Leader. In this role, Ben taught and mentored other musicians and led a section of Baritone Saxophones on the marching field.

Ben participated in Music for All National Honor Band of America Baritone Saxophone, Music for All National Music Festival Mountain Ridge High School, and Arizona Southwest All-Region Baritone Saxophone Music Festivals. In addition, he received the AZMBA Marching Band Championship Essay Scholarship, given to a musician participating in the AZMBA Marching Band Championship who displayed the best qualities through an essay.

Ben served as the West-MEC Drone Technology Student Organization President in 2022 and SkillsUSA Team Captain and Organizer in 2023. In these roles, he led individuals tasked with fundraising and setting up community service and other events.
